Bandit
Born in 2012, BANDIT joined HorsePower in 2025 and was a generous gift from Karol and Jeff Anderson. He is a Missouri Fox Trotter/Quarter Horse mix. Fox Trotters originated in the Ozark Mountains in Missouri and are the state’s official horse. Before coming to HorsePower, Bandit was a trail horse, and although a little shy he does love being with humans. Bandit has been the first choice for students of all sizes and personalities. He can be stoic, but regularly gives “hugs” after a few weeks of being with his team.
Belle
BELLE joined the herd in 2022 and was a special donation received from HorsePower Instructor and long-time volunteer Nancy Leslie. Born in 2003, Belle is half Arabian and half Pinto Paint - that’s why she’s so pretty. You would never believe that Belle spent most of her life with just one other horse or by herself, because she is queen of the herd and keeps everyone else in their place. We like to call her “boss mare”.
T.K.
T.K. is one of the newest members of the HorsePower herd, having joined in June 2026. He certainly has some Thoroughbred in his bloodline as he sometimes shows his hot-blooded side running back to pasture! He enjoys hanging out with humans - but when it’s time to rejoin the herd, you should see him run! He was born in 2020, making him the youngest horse at HorsePower.
Big John
Born in 2010, BIG JOHN became part of the herd in July 2026 and got connected to HorsePower through a local barn. His previous owner, Tonja Evans, is now a HorsePower Volunteer! Big John is definitely a herd animal and likes to be with people and other horses…specifically the most agreeable mare. Sometimes he reacts timidly to big body movements or unusual objects, but once he is under saddle (or bareback pad) he is a confident, sturdy steed.
Jolie
JOLIE is the only full Arabian breed at HorsePower and brought her classy trot and unique rose-gold flea-bitten markings to the herd in 2023. She was born in 2003 and, before coming to HorsePower, was a show horse and loved helping her kids compete and win! Arabians are known for intelligence, confidence, courage, loyalty, and energy, and Jolie certainly embodies all those qualities.
Maiden
MAIDEN was born in 2002 and joined the herd in 2020, which makes her the oldest and longest member of the herd! She is a sweet mare, but tough, and is also sweet on Big John. She used to sort cattle on a ranch and then took her family on trail rides. After that, she was used for some English riding and more Western. Maiden is our go-to gal if Instructors are unsure about which horse to put with a student - Maiden is the obvious choice.
Mocha
Born in 2005, MOCHA is super friendly with other horses and humans alike. She is a Quarter Horse, born to be fast, but actually likes to take it slow in the arena and on the trail. She has been with HorsePower since 2022 and is a volunteer favorite.
Monte
MONTE’S other moniker is “Handsome Boy,” and he definitely is. He is a chestnut, or a “red horse,” with the same color mane and tail. He was born in 2006 and is 16 hands tall, making him our tallest horse, but he is definitely a gentle giant, finding joy in serving our smallest students.
